Closed for over 10 years, it looks like California’s only extant vintage diner may soon reopen. Phil’s Diner will start serving food in North Hollywood’s new arts district thanks to what various reports describe as a painstaking restoration by Casey Hallenbeck. In an article at NohoArtsDistrict.com, the Phil and his wife Malissa Hallenbeck plan also to restore the American menu, sourcing as much food as possible from local sources.

Our friend Philomene Belair is asking for people to share any photos they might have of the Miss Adams Diner through the years. Phil and her husband Rick tell Roadside that this year marks their first anniversary in in a diner that has seen few people last even that long in the previous decade.
