Oakely, Utah -- It happens less than you might think or as much as we'd hope, but someone actually pulled it off. Keith Walker successfully moved, restored, and opened his vintage 1939 O'Mahony diner this week after about a years work and $1 million spent. Regular readers of RoadsideOnline will remember that soon after Keith took delivery of the former Tommy's Diner, he noticed that the cashier's station didn't come with the package. In a correspondence sent to Zilka and shared with Roadside, Keith wrote: "I've always given you the benefit of the doubt but now see that your detractors aren't entirely wrong. You do indeed take valuable items from diners that are for sale ( i.e Tommy's cash register station) in order to benefit your non-existent museum. I guess you do not value what good I can bring to your organization, and so I will not mention it herewith in the future newscasts/advertising of how this diner made it to Utah. Furthermore, as I go forward and am asked about your 'Museum' and integrity, I will comment with how our dealings have played out. It's a shame you cannot seem to be straight with those in the industry that are trying to make a difference." Also missing from the diner upon its arrival in Utah were its original exterior clock and builder's tags.
