LAST HINT: This diner served as a location in the movie “City Hall” staring John Cusack, Al Pacino, and Bridgett Fonda.

UPDATE: Okay, I know this is a hard one, so here’s a couple hints. This diner was named after a major transportational landmark only about a half mile to the east of it. This diner is also located in northern New Jersey.

Every week, we will present a photo of a diner, and we invite you to first, name that diner, and second, tell any story you might have about it. Everyone can participate in the fun, except for anyone who has authored a diner book, has ever contributed to Roadside, or is otherwise recognized as a diner “expert” in the community. We have a winner!

The Tunnel Diner sits on the road that emerges from the Holland Tunnel. It’s a Paramount with an exterior renovation by Kullman. This photo dates from 2005.
