Canadian Chocolate Cake
This delicious dessert comes to us by way of the Martindale Chief Diner in Martindale, New York, right along the Taconic Parkway.
Ingredients:
- 2 Cups Flour
- 2 Cups Sugar
- 1⁄2 Cup Baking Cocoa
- 1⁄2 Cup Butter
- 2 Cups Hot Black Coffee
Mix the above ingredients together and add:
- 2 Eggs
- 2 Teaspoons Baking Soda
- 2 Teaspoons Baking Powder
- 1 Teaspoon Salt
Mix together and place evenly into two (2) 9″ or 10″ greased and floured cake plans. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 – 40 minutes.
Frosting Ingredients and Instructions
- 1 Cup Milk
- 4 Tablespoons Butter
- 3 Tablespoons Flour
Cook until thick and cool and then add:
- 1⁄2 Cup Sugar
- 1⁄2 Cup Crisco
- 1 Teaspoon Vanilla Extract
- Beat together than frost the cake. Share and Enjoy!
