The Diner Finder is the Internet's best source of real diner information.
Our first stop of the day was the Miss Oxford Diner in Oxford, Pennsylvania. It was pouring rain when we first arrived. I had my digital camera, diner notebook, pens, and a few copies of Roadside Magazine in a plastic freezer bag under my arm in order to keep them from getting soaked as we made our way into the neon clock topped vestibule of the restored 1954 Silk City. The counter base and floor are tile.
Though all Silk City diners of this era have identical tile floors, they just seem so out of place and out of date when compared to the terrazzo floors that other companies had installed in that period. Grey mother of pearl pattern Formica coats the walls.
