The Diner Finder is the Internet's best source of real diner information.
When I need a truck, I don't buy a car.
And yet, the new(ish) owners of Sadie Katz's Delicatessen did just that when they bought the former Oasis Diner in Burlington, Vermont, which the Stratton Lines and family had kept in near perfect condition for about sixty years. With the Mountain View now on the slippery slope to mundanity, we can all just sit around and wonder when they'll rip out the rest of the counter, or cover up all the tile with wooden panels.
After all, when I look at this building, I don't think "deli." I think "diner" and from a marketing standpoint, Sadie Katz still has a problem on their hand that they can only solve by moving the hell out or by Lou-Roc'ing the place.

I can't believe they were so lazy that they used blue tile on the new counter instead of even trying to match the pink color that was already there.
All together now... "If you don't want a vintage diner, don't buy one!"
