Roadside explores the back road and Main Streets of America. Our recipe for an American renaissance: Eat in diners, ride trains, shop on Main Street, put a porch on your house, live in a walkable community.
Each week, we will present a photo of a diner, and we invite you to first, name that diner, and second, tell any story you might have about it. Everyone can participate in the fun, except for anyone who has authored a diner book, has ever contributed to Roadside, or is otherwise recognized as a diner "expert" in the community. One other thing: Please post your comments here on this site, not on our Facebook page.
Get it right or tell the best story, and maybe you'll win something! ;-)
Roadside Magazine featured this Silk City in 1993 after finding it in what we then described as a "roadside paradise." It has since moved to another location and operated for another couple of years. Can you name this diner?
